Dr. Peter Copp

MBChB FRCP (Edin) MRCGP DCCH DRCOG DFSRH DOccMed DPCRheum

Peter then took a courageous leap and left the NHS completely and went to set up Scotland’s first dedicated private primary care service and GP Plus opened its doors in November 1999. Since then, it has flourished to become Scotland’s top service of its kind.

Over these years it has focused primarily upon the provision of unhurried and entirely client centric private primary care consultations and almost exclusively to the self-funded market. Interaction and liaison with the individuals NHS GP take place as and when and according to individual consent and very best practice. A range of other services include those of the business-to-business variety and the provision of more boutique-formatted services in the Occupational Health field.

Early customers included Deutsche Bank/RBS and Wood Mackenzie. Peter became the Senior Medical Board advisor for RBS until 2010. He was a central figure in the £5M project to fund a 640 slice CT (first of its type outside Japan) which has since been handed over to the Queen Mothers Research Institute in Edinburgh University.

Dr. Sukh Gill

MBChB MRCGP DCCH DRCOG DFSRH DOccMed DPCRheum

With a multifaceted skillset and a focus on holistic healthcare, Sukh extends his expertise beyond the clinical setting into medical education and international work. Fluent in English, French, and Punjabi, with a working knowledge of Hindi, he enhances patient care by connecting with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Sukh served as the Secretary for the Faculty Board from 2018 to February 2024, shaping policies and initiatives. He also led the First5 GPs in Edinburgh and was President of the South-East AiT (Associates in Training), advocating for early-career physicians.As a GP, Sukh specializes in sports injuries, performing joint injections and minor surgical procedures. He completed his medical degree at Dundee University in 2013 and an intercalated degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University.

Dr. Sub Gill

MBChB MRCGP DCCH DRCOG DFSRH DOccMed DPCRheum

Sub studied his junior years here in Edinburgh gathering a breadth of speciality knowledge including: Paediatric surgery/neonatal medicine, Accident and Emergency, Obstetrics and gynaecology and psychiatry. Despite this, Sub was always keen and passionate to pursue a career in general practice. He entered training quickly and completed this in 2021.

As a newly qualified GP, he is very eager and thorough taking his time to get to the bottom of mysteries/challenging diagnoses.  He has always been interested in sports medicine and surgical procedures and incorporated this into his career doing joint injections and minor surgery. He also does a range of aesthetic work from anti-wrinkle injections and fillers.Sub is a GP partner at the Meadows Medical Practice for the last 1 year, an early commitment, from a young enthusiastic doctor. He has shown this with his patients building up trust and problem solving complex diagnoses.

Outside work, Sub is an active person running regularly keeping himself fit and pushing himself further with distance/trail running. He lives in Edinburgh with his wife

Dr. Sheelagh Harwell

MBChB MRCGP BSc (Hons)

Sheelagh completed her foundation training in London, before moving to Edinburgh to settle in 2017. She was awarded with a merit in ePortfolio and audit in South Thames during her training, as well as a distinction in third year of her medical degree in Glasgow.

Since then, she has completed training and is raising a young family. Although she thrives in all areas of General Practice, she has a particular interest in paediatrics and takes time to really communicate with children on their level, aiming to complete a thorough assessment while minimising distress. She will see a broad range of paediatric presentations, and also do paediatric blood tests.

She sits on the Lothian Prescribing Bulletin Editorial team as well as the Area Drugs and Therapeutics Committee for NHS Lothian, which ensures very up to date knowledge on prescribing practises and the latest guidelines. She also does anti-wrinkle injections.

In her spare time, Sheelagh does yoga and hiking. She has climbed Kilimanjaro as the team’s medic and is always planning the next adventure!
